What we’re doing

Our Mission

To educate the public, raise awareness, and change systemic race issues and discrimination against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. We are committed to bringing different racial and ethnic backgrounds together to stand firmly against all forms of hatred and discrimination through civic engagement and open discussions.
AAPI for Change is non-partisan and is organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes.

Rally for change

AAPI for Change hosts discussions, educational events and rallies helping advance our mission to educate the public, raise awareness, and change systemic race issues and discrimination against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. We recently hosted our first Tri-State Rally on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at City Halls in Philadelphia, PA, Trenton, NJ and New York, NY.

We plan to host more events and and planning is underway for our next multi-state rally in 2022. Check out our Events Page to learn about our upcoming events and rallies.

Inspire the next generation

We believe that change happens when people in local communities are civically engaged, including our children. No one is every too young to be an activist and advocate for change. Founder Esther Yang is leading discussions with schools in local communities with our presentation “Spreading Kindness: Being an Ally for Change.” Our conversation helps Middle School and High School students find a cause that they are passionate about and learn about ways they can help facilitate change in their school or community.

To learn more and have Esther speak at your child’s school, please contact us at hello@AAPIforChange.org.

Encourage Voters

Our voice is heard when we get out and vote. Change can happen when we vote for people that are passionate about helping our local communities that align with our goals and values. As members of the AAPI community, we must register to vote and make plans/get to the polls for every election: local, state and federal.

Take five minutes and learn more about an issue affecting your community or if any AAPI candidates are running for office. Representation matters. Our collective voice as AAPI individuals will be stronger when we have advocates in office that look like us and understand our shared experiences.

Use the FREE Vote.org tools below to learn more and how register to vote in your local community.
